New Rules for Opioid Prescribing and Monitoring

The Washington Medical Commission prepared these slides for presentations to allopathic physicians about the opioid prescribing guidelines adopted in 2019. The slides briefly review what is covered by the guidelines and what is excluded, discuss continuing medical education requirements, describe requirements to check the prescription monitoring program, and offer advice on incorporating the changes in practice.
